This is a VERY hard to find original Dixie 246-T 2-cylinder base mount magneto. It was used on the Waterloo Boy and early John Deere D tractors and power units and probably had other 2-cylinder applications. It is in excellent shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of and looks to have been rebuilt in the recent past. It is counter clockwise rotation and the impulse works as it should. Everything works as it should. It turns over nicely with no bearing wear that I can feel. It has good magnetism and puts out a nice blue spark on both leadouts. Everything inside the points cover looks to be in great shape. It mounts on a 2 inch square bolt pattern and the mounting threads are in great shape. These original Dixie 246-T magnetos are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one for an authentic restoration here’s a really nice one.
