This is a very nice old Webster Model M low tension magneto for an old engine. It was factory equipment on many smaller hit and miss and throttle governed engines back in the day. The bearings have very little wear and it moves very smoothly with good magnetic pull. It is in great shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of other than a chip on the rear oil hole which won’t affect anything. All of the mounting holes are in great shape with the studs in them. It puts out a good, hot, blue spark that will surely run an engine if it is set up properly with the addition a couple springs and rollers which are available from several suppliers rather inexpensively. It mounts on a 1 1/2 x 2 pattern. It has the original name band on it. The trip finger is in good shape. These old Webster M magnetos are getting tougher to find every day so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It would also make a great spare on the shelf. 2 1/4hp Galloway Boss of the Farm hit and miss engine. Valves have been done but need to be lapped in. Engine looks to have a new sleeve in it. Rings will need to be seated. Missing rocker arm and push rod. Cam shaft needs holder for detent. Repair on the detent but could easily be ground down. Old repair on the bottom of the water jacket which is hard to see. Has a v-groove in the pulley side flywheel like a couple others I’ve seen. The pitting in the groove matches the rest of the engine so it’s been there a long time… Likely from the factory. Would be a great winter project! I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Coolspring, PA, later this month or LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, or Portland, IN, next year. Here is a 303K63 Webster magneto igniter bracket that I think is for an Ohio gas engine. This would fit a push rod version of an Ohio and not a side shaft. Please take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. No cracks, breaks, or welds, that I can see or know of. No wear can be felt in the movable electrode, there is a washer in between it and the body though so it may or may not seal up alright. Uses a K or L magneto with the 2″ x 2″ mounting pattern. Mounts to the engine with two holes 2-3/8 apart on center. The raised area in the center is 1-1/2 in diameter. I try to list items very accurately but my opinions on condition may differ from yours. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. So if someone doesn’t pay I will ban them from my listings and also tell all my friends who also sell engine parts on here who to watch out for. If you haven’t caught on this is supposed to be mildly funny but yet serious at the same time. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper you I won’t take it back. This is a rather hard to find original Webster magneto bracket for a 4hp IHC Famous or Titan gas or kerosene engine. It has no cracks, breaks, or repairs other than the tab that holds the advance/retard lever. It mounts with two holes 2 1/8 inches apart on center and the magneto mounts on a 2 3/16 x 2 13/16 pattern. It is a bit crusty and stuck but I think with some patience it would free up just fine. It would be a great candidate for electrolysis. The pictures tell the story. These original IHC Webster ignitors are quite tough to find so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It would also make a great spare on the shelf.
