Here is a Webster Podlasak Magneto as used on many early hit and miss engines. These were esp popular on the IHC Famous/Titan line, but were also used on other early engines. These mags are much rarer than the later Websters and really dress up an early engine! This one has been on the shelf in my collection for many years & I’m thinning out a few mags this winter. These don’t come up often so don’t miss it if you need one. The mag is complete and I don’t see any damage of any type on it. It does not turn, but hopefully that just means it’s not worn out. Here is a very rare piece! This J112 igniter bracket and Webster magneto fits a large Armstrong gas engine. You see few mag brackets around now and then, but you rarely see anything for an Armstrong. The Webster is the large size like you see on the bigger engines. I’ve kept this mag on the shelf for years as part of our collection, but I figured if anyone needed it for an Armstrong engine, it just as well go back in service. It is greasy and dirty, but I think everything on it is complete and seems to be in good shape. The mag is missing one screw, but that’s the only thing I can see gone. It even has the original starting trip lever. The Mag & igniter both move freely and I don’t see anything broken or repaired on either. The points look good and it even has the original terminal clip on the igniter and the original name band on the mag. These brackets are hard to find and this one is in good condition for being 100+ years old. Don’t miss it if you need one. Please check out my other engine parts auctions. Here is a rare 303J1 Webster magneto bracket. This fits 6hp IHC Titan and Famous engines. It has been welded on the mag mount at one time but done well. The weld is just about not noticeable with mag on the bracket. It is missing a piece where it bolts to the engine. The roller for lifting the trip during the coast cycle is broken. It has been taken completely apart and bead blasted. The body polished, coils installed, armature shafts turned down to true them, bushing plates bored out and new bushings pressed in and bored out to fit shafts. Magnets painted and charged, new rollers, springs, band, sticker and oliers installed. These brass body type L magnetos are getting hard to find. This is a rather hard to find original Webster magneto for an ignitor fired hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is as close to New Old Stock as you could hope to find and if it was used it wasn’t used very much at all! It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It is a model L with 3 magnets. The magneto mounts on a 2 inch square pattern and was used on many gas engines of the day. There is almost no noticeable wear in the bearings. I checked it just before I took the pictures and it puts out a nice, hot, blue spark that will surely run your engine if it is set up properly. There is very little wear on the trip finger. The threads in the mounting holes are in great shape and have the original studs in them yet. It has the original name band on it yet. If you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It is probably the cleanest and sharpest original Webster I’ve ever owned or offered. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up! It would also make a great spare on the shelf. Let the pictures be your guide. You won’t be disappointed in any way. This is an extremely hard to find original Webster magneto ignitor bracket for vertical International Harvester hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs except for the recent JB Weld type repair on the roller bracket. This is hard to notice and could easily be recasted if you so choose. It is bracket number G-6665 and has the IHC logo cast into it. I’ve had a few of these over the years and this is the first one I’ve ever seen with an IHC part number on it. It mounts with two holes 3 inches apart on center. This bracket will fit the 2 and 3hp vertical engines and possibly the 5 and 6hp vertical engines but please measure your engine to be sure it fits your application. The magneto mounts on a 2 3/16 x 2 13/16 inch pattern so it would take a Webster JZ magneto. Everything moves and functions as it should. There is very little wear on the movable shaft and very little wear on the points. I believe it’s ready to be used on an engine or put on the shelf for a spare.
