Waters patent, 1871 and 1885, steam engine flyball governor. I really think it could be, but you all know more than me on that. One heck of a nice piece for display anyway. Waters governors is decent condition don’t seem to come up for sale often. It is roughly 17″ tall, has a 1 1/4″ opening. It weighs 23 pounds. Could be cleaned up more. I took the baked on soot off of it, which was nearly 1/4 thick. It has 7798 stamped on one part and 325 stamped on a brass part. Not sure if those are serial numbers or what. Both to help protect it and to have it fit in a box better. Very cool piece for a steam engine guy. I can always take more pictures and try to answer any questions you may have.
