Being auctioned is a nice running non-compression gas engine with a RMC solid-state ignition coil. Non-compression engines have no compression stroke to their engine cycle & instead fire a charge at or under atmospheric pressure. The newly-built model engine that is being offered is cast from fine-grain ductile iron & has a lot of detail to the castings. (see pictures) The castings were hand filed & detailed & were left unpainted with a natural finish that’s easy to care for. This engine has machined steel, brass, bronze & iron parts & was designed to look & be built like something that could have been made years ago. This engine is unique in that it can switch non-compression cycles just by moving the timing lever. It changes from “Intake, Power, Exhaust” to “Intake, Exhaust, Power” & will stay running the whole time. Unlike traditional non-compression cycle engines, this engine can fire at top dead center each revolution. It’s also a Hemi. Something else unique about this engine is that it can switch into a compression cycle engine just by loosening a screw on top the head. Turning the screw the other way will change the engine back to a non-compression cycle; (See video of this engine below). The engine draws vapor from a Mason jar fuel tank & runs on regular gasoline. The only fuel control is a simple choke. There is a ΒΌ-32 thread glass spark plug located on top of the engine (attached to the black wire). The engine speed can be controlled by advancing or retarding the timer lever (located behind the flywheel) & the engine can be run with the ignition timer in any position. The engine runs great; it’s smooth & steady & since it has no compression, it turns over easy & will start with no effort. The engine can either be hand started by spinning the flywheel or spun over by using the starting crank. The engine comes assembled & ready to run; all you need is some gasoline & a 6 or 12 volt battery to power the ignition coil. The engine also comes with an owner’s manual with simple notes about it & how to run it. The engine, fuel tank, wood display box & coil weigh about 21 lbs. The engine can be seen at the address below. It can be picked up if wanted. The engine comes with a new RMC solid-state ignition buzz coil. This coil can be used on most any engine & was specially made to be UV & water resistant. The coil connects & disconnects quickly & easily from the engine & battery. The engine runs best off regular gasoline & uses a RMC wick-fed Mason jar fuel tank which comes with the engine. Being wick fed, it improves carburetion of new or old fuel & will even run the engine in colder temperatures, giving a steadier fuel feed to the engine. It can also run on Coleman lantern fuel, or the engine can be hooked up directly to demand regulated gasses such as propane, etc. Without making any modifications to it. The engine comes with a sanded & sealed white pine storage & display box. The box is about 10-3/4″ x 10-1/4″ x 4-1/4 tal. L & can safely hold & store the engine & fuel tank. The box is nicely built & sealed with two coats of good polyurethane that will resist any gas or oil spills. An oil cup lubricates the cylinder & the wrist pin is a sealed self-lubricated bearing. The engine is machined from the RMC’Type D’ style of castings. The base & head were sand cast without a follow board using RMC’s handmade core-less patterns. The engine itself stands about 10-1/2 tall & weighs about 14 lbs. This engine uses an RMC designed valve which was developed for the type C 2-stroke engine. It was meant to be used to switch the type C 2-stroke compression engine into a 2-stroke non-compression engine.
