This is a reproduction igniter for a IHC vertical gas engine. I know it will fit the 2hp and 3hp engine and will probably fit some of the rarer other size of IHC vertical engines. It appears to be in great unused condition. Mounts with 2 holes 3 apart on center. Reproduction part, I have no idea who made it. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. So if someone doesn’t pay I will ban them from my listings and also tell all my friends who also sell engine parts on here who to watch out for. If you haven’t caught on this is supposed to be mildly funny but yet serious at the same time. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper you I won’t take it back. For example if my measurements are wrong I would take it back. So here it is. Check out my other items. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. Old Vertical IHC FAMOUS Hit Miss Gas Engine Webster Ignitor Magneto Oiler Steam

This is an extremely hard to find original Webster magneto ignitor bracket for vertical International Harvester hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs except for the recent JB Weld type repair on the roller bracket. This is hard to notice and could easily be recasted if you so choose. It is bracket number G-6665 and has the IHC logo cast into it. I’ve had a few of these over the years and this is the first one I’ve ever seen with an IHC part number on it. It mounts with two holes 3 inches apart on center. This bracket will fit the 2 and 3hp vertical engines and possibly the 5 and 6hp vertical engines but please measure your engine to be sure it fits your application. The magneto mounts on a 2 3/16 x 2 13/16 inch pattern so it would take a Webster JZ magneto. Everything moves and functions as it should. There is very little wear on the movable shaft and very little wear on the points. I believe it’s ready to be used on an engine or put on the shelf for a spare. If you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. They are incredibly tough to find… Let the pictures be your guide. You won’t be disappointed in any way. I can be reached at 262 573 1931 if you’d like to talk about it. The item “Old Vertical IHC FAMOUS Hit Miss Gas Engine Webster Ignitor Magneto Oiler Steam” is in sale since Friday, January 20, 2017. Old VERTICAL MAYTAG Air Cooled Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
vertical

Here’s a pretty nice older restoration 1/2hp vertical Maytag air cooled hit and miss gas engine. It was restored back in the 1970′s and ran and showed at that time. It turns over nicely with great compression and should run with very little effort. It is the earlier style with the mixer on the main bearing. It seem to have most of it’s original paint under the green on the gas tank and may look great “unrestored”. There is one chipped cooling fin and an very old, well done braze repair on the flywheel. It was run this way and had no issues. There are no other cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It is on a homemade presentation base with built in wiring, coil, and knife switch. It would be a fine addition to your engine collection or display. The pictures tell the story. I can deliver this for free LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, engine shows or swap meets next year. Vertical Hit and Miss running scale model engine, antique looking, gas motor

Here are the details on this engine. The engine itself, minus the wooden base, is 10 inches long x 11 inches wide x 16 ¼ inches tall. The wooden base itself measures 22 inches long x 6 ½ inches wide and is 2 ¼ inches tall. Total height with the engine on the wooden base is 18 ½ inches tall. The flywheels measure 9 ¼ inches. It weighs 40 lbs. Many hours of machine work and assembly goes into producing a quality scale model like this. A lathe, milling machine and experienced operator were needed to finish the castings and to fabricate the additional parts required. Having to pay someone for all of the machine work and fabrication involved would cost quite a bit! I do not know if this was built from a casting kit or completely custom made from plans. Either way, as you can see whoever built this one sure did a heck of a nice job! Should anyone out there have any information about this engine, please pass it along and I will post it here in the ad. Several parts of your engine look very familiar. I believe you will find out that it is a vintage Briggs & Stratton that was converted to hit & miss by a man in Texas. He built several of these although most were open crank horizontals. I have one of those. I never could find out his name so if someone should tell you, please let me know. Here is a web link that will take you to the video of this engine running. I ran this on Coleman lantern fuel with just a few drops of castor oil mixed in at about 40:1 for some upper cylinder lubrication. It started for me on the 2. Try, turning the flywheel to the beginning of the compression stroke and giving it a easy, quick turn. On the first turn of the flywheel I had my finger over the air intake (choked it) to pull the fuel up to the mixer needle. Only a very slight adjustment of the mixture needle is needed to get it running properly. The crankcase is enclosed. There is a copper drain line attached to the bottom that allows the excess cylinder/ crankcase oil to drain out. Keep the cylinder drip oilier filled and turned on when running this engine. Ignition is provided by a antique Ford buzz coil that is mounted below the engine. I used a 6 volt jell cell type battery to power the coil. Most any 6 volt DC power source will work. The battery and the white battery cord that are shown in the video are NOT included in the sale. I show the details in the video. I check my emails often and will respond in a timely manor. NOTE: This is a running reproduction of a antique engine. It is a adult collectible item and is intended to be used by a experienced adult. Just like the original engine, it has no safety guards in place. Loose clothing, long hair or fingers could become caught in any moving part when this engine is running or even being turned over by hand. Use commonsense and keep your fingers especially small fingers! Away from all moving parts! I make no guarantees or clams as to how it will run for you or even if you would be able to get it started. Some mechanical knowledge and experience is needed to run any antique model engine like this. I have clear photos posted of this engine and I have a video posted showing it running. You should have some knowledge of a engine like this, like how to maintain it, keep it lubricated and adjust it if necessary as I provide no instructions other than what is in my videos and written in this ad. No guarantees of any kind are included with a custom hand made, adult hobby item like this. The package measures 25x25x16 and it weighs 51 pounds. I completely wrapped the engine up in many pieces of heavy duty bubble wrap. I have 2 photos posted showing my packing job. You will need to carefully cut away the many layers industrial type bubble wrap to remove it from it’s protective cocoon. For sales outside of the U. This is gasoline powered scale model engine that comes with no instructions or guarantees what so ever!! Do not stick your finger or other body parts in a rotating mechanical assembly!! The new owner assumes all responsibilities and liabilities to himself/herself and others with this engine. This is an adult collectible item not to be operated or played with by children. I make no clams to it being safe as it is a antique scale model reproduction produced back in the day when no safety guards, air bags, safety warning labels, ect.. Were attached to dangerous products. I make no claims that it will even run as some might not have the mechanical ability to figure it out. By purchasing this item you are stating that you have read my whole ad, you understand it and that you agree with the terms and policy’s stated in this ad. I have detailed photos posted. A link is in this ad that shows this engine running. Thank you for looking!! Should you have any questions, please ask. Thank you for looking!
