This is a pretty nice old 3hp Fairbanks Morse Z throttle governed gas engine. It seems to be in great shape and barn fresh from a collection where it has lived for decades. It turns over nicely but the exhaust valve is stuck. The cylinder looks to be in great shape and it looks like all of the bearing shims are still in it. The gas tank looks to be in very solid shape and has the “original” corn cob filler plug! The engine head appears to be unbroken unlike most of them. The fuel needles move as they should. The engine has the cast iron governor bracket on it. It is missing a governor weight and the small governor gear. It also needs the piece of spring steel on the speed changer that runs on the governor spindle. Both the cam gear and crank gear seem to have very little wear. With just a little elbow grease this could be a very nice running and displayable engine! I can deliver this for free to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. A great four cylinder KW ignition system high bar magneto. Mag is in very nice original condition. We cleaned it up and spun it over… Has good spark and seems to have hot and good drag. Hard to tell exactly, but magneto is either a model number 33730 or 83730. Please see pictures more detail. No visible cracks, breaks or welds in metal or brass. The splitter bar is cracked and missing corners of cylinders 3 and 4. Porcelain cap is present and not cracked. Most likely fits an early Antique prairie tractor, hit miss motor, holt, Harris, caterpillar, Minneapolis case, thresher, combine or other collectible tractors. Not exactly sure what this one will fit so please see pictures for more information. This is a barn find unit, so I do not know the history of it at all. What you see is what you get. Here is a fairly scarce 6hp Worthington Kerosene engine. It is in good condition considering its age. It turns over as it should and has some compression but has been sitting for many years. I believe that it was painted with very little prep work and the paint comes off pretty easily to reveal some original paint underneath. It has a Webster magneto and ignitor on it and also has the original crankguard which is nearly always missing! Everything moves as it should and the engine seems to have only little to mild wear on it. The bottom of the head has an old repair that could be dressed down a bit. The crankcase has an old braze repair under the crankshaft and also has another crack that requires some attention. There is a rod around it for safety as can be seen. I think this would be a good candidate for a fish plate in the back and some stitching. The other side of the crankcase seems to be in good shape. The hopper has some extra holes in it that could be filled pretty easily as well. The mixer cover is not original but works. The Webster ramp has an addition to it. There are no other cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. I don’t think this engine was ever run after it was “painted”. It could be a very nice engine with just a little elbow grease and this would be a very straightforward project. This is a real nice original 6-feed mechanical oiler or lubricator for an early gas engine, tractor, car or truck, or other piece of machinery. It was made by Detroit Lubricator Company in Detroit. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except for the glass tent on the top which really doesn’t affect anything. It seems to have very little wear anywhere on it. It has a cast iron body. The original level sight glass is good. It turns smoothly and pumps oil from 2 of the pumps. I really see no reason it doesn’t pump on all of them but it probably needs a good internal cleaning as it has been sitting a while. The case measures about 4 3/4 x 9 inches and is about 6 1/2 inches tall overall. Overall it is about 10 inches long. It mounts with four holes on a 5 3/8 x 7 3/8 pattern. These early Detroit lubricators are extremely difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one.
