This is a very hard to find original governor for a walking beam Alamo hit and miss gas engine. At least I’m pretty sure that’s what it’s for. If it isn’t please educate me! It might also work for some steam applications. Please do your homework to be sure it will work for you. It mounts with a half moon shelf about 4 3/8 inches long with two holes 2 5/15 inches apart on center. There is also a larger hole in the shelf. It stands about 10 1/4 inches tall overall. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs other than a bushing in the horizontal shaft housing. This should probably be redone as it is worn again. The gears are a bit worn but will last a good while yet. The vertical shaft and bearings are nice and tight with very little wear. Everything is nice and greasy and moves as it should. Other than the horizontal shaft there seems to be very little wear elsewhere. I can’t remember ever seeing another Alamo governor like this available so if you need one don’t miss it. Early Alamo parts of any kind are rather. Difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up and it probably won’t be this nice. This one is isn’t perfect but with a little elbow grease could be made perfect. It would surely beat making a complete governor! I can be reached at 262 573 1931 if you’d like to talk about it.
