This is a true hit and miss engine. Excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs other than the homemade rocker arm. It sits on the original skids, has the original crankguard, gear guard, muffler, pulley, and gas tank. Lots of original paint and pinstriping with more to be found under the grease, I’m sure! It has super compression and although I haven’t tried to run it I’m sure it wouldn’t take much as a previous owner had it running a few years ago. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. It can also be picked up here and stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for. This is an original and estate fresh early Economy 2 1/2hp Model E hit and miss gas engine. It is in decent condition for its age but does have some battle scars as can be seen. The head has some old repairs and will need attention. The engine turns over as it should and almost everything interacts as it should. Everything is free on the engine except the valves. They move but are very stiff and will need to be removed for attention. The mixer has an extra hole in the back of it that will likely need to be filled. The engine is missing the Webster magneto and the ignitor bracket has been drilled for a spark plug. There is a slight crack on the side of the water jacket that I’ve pointed out and may need attention but probably won’t leak. The original gas tank looks quite solid. It has some original red paint in places as can be seen. In general this engine just needs a good going through and should be a pretty straightforward project! It’s a good chance to get into a true hit and miss engine at ground level. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Baraboo,, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. This is a pretty decent old 1 1/2hp Hercules hit and miss gas engine. It is in good shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than a missing choke plate. It appears that restoration was started as seen by the primer but the green paint is original paint. I’m not sure if the original paint is under the primer but I suspect it is. It is quite smooth like the flywheels. The valves have been redone but need to be lapped in. The head gasket and ignitor gaskets are new. The magneto and ignitor have good spark. It turns over as it should and there is very little wear on the gearing. It needs the rod bearing taken up but there are shims to remove. The original crank guard is on it. It will need a gas tank and a muffler as can be seen but these are available rather inexpensively as reproductions. With just a little effort this will be a really nice engine. It basically needs a going through. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Baraboo,, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. Older restoration 1 1/2hp John Deere Type E. Turns over nicely and has good compression. Squirted gas in the mixer and it started right up! No cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than on old braze repair on the rocker arm. Has a couple extra holes in the pulley that won’t affect anything. This is an old 1 1/2hp International Harvester Type M gas engine. It has been in a collection for many years. It will need a full restoration and is missing some parts as you can see. The head has a broken push rod holder but the piece is in the hopper. It also has a broken governor yoke and repaired pulley side flywheel. There is also a slight crack on the air intake. There is no piston in it but a connecting rod and cap are included. The flywheels turn as they should. It would be a pretty straightforward project and M parts are quite readily available. 1 1/2hp John Deere Hit Miss Gas Engines. Very Nice Original & Parts Engine NO RESERVE!!!! Here is a pair of 1 1/2 horse power John Deere Hit Miss Gas Engines. With an extra head assembly, plus flywheels with crank and gear. I have included many photos to show their condition. As can be seen they are both barn fresh. One has the nicest original logo that I have ever seen. I think the new owner will find loads of original paint under all of that. This engine has good compression for being old dry and untouched for many years. The mag shaft turns freely when the flywheels are turned. It has a very old repair on the ignitor. I do not see any other cracks or repairs. As can be seen the trip lever spring is missing and one of the. Flywheels has about a 1/16 of an inch runout. I don’t think it will take much to get this engine going. The rougher engine has a bit of compression for being dry and untouched. As can be seen it is missing a few parts. The ignitor is cracked. This is the only crack that I can find on the engine. The extra head has a broken and twisted ignitor. I have to many smaller engines, that I have been tripping over. Cluttering the barn that need to go. Keep checking my other auctions for no reserve barn fresh engines. Please call if you need additional information. This is a real nice original cast iron clutch pulley for a 2 1/2hp Mogul or 3hp Type M gas engine made by the International Harvester Company. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except one repaired spoke on the carrier. A very nice job was done and it’s very tough to notice especially when it’s on an engine. Everything works as it should and there doesn’t seem to be very much wear anywhere on the pulley. It has new wooden shoes installed and is ready to go to work. The pulley has a 4 1/2 inch face and is 10 inches in diameter. It has a 1 3/4 inch bore to fit on the crankshaft. It is a factory pulley for 2 1/2hp Mogul or 3hp M as shown in the parts books. It will fit on other engines with a 1 3/4 inch crankshaft as well. Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. These original clutch pulleys are next to impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they really set an engine off! They also make it much easier to run belt driven implements with your engine. If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration here’s your chance. This one is ready to be put to work on an engine or put into your inventory for a spare. The pictures tell the story.
